Sue Burgess: CV
1997 - 1999
Analyst/Programmer in central administration of University of Oxford
- Main duties:
Working with Ingres/SQL on student-related systems running under Unix and NT.
- I spent about half this time on maintenance of the Examinations system, originally written by myself in Ingres 4GL during an earlier period of work at the University Offices (1993-1995).
- The other half of the time was spent developing GUI screens for a new client/server Student Records system, written in Open Road, which also involved editing and rebuilding the C source for Windows DLLs: first a 16-bit version using the Borland C compiler, then a 32-bit version using MS Visual C++ 5.0.
- Salary: Approx. £24,000
- Reason for leaving: Wished to work less intensively while starting a family
