Database Developer at SalesOut Ltd, a software house which processes and reports on sales data supplied by grocery wholesalers.

Main duties:
- Migration of several customers' systems from SQL Server to Oracle, with additional enhancements such as automation of the data loading process via the Windows Scheduler, and significant increases in checking for data consistency. This involved the use of:
  - SQL Loader to import data from CSV files supplied by the customers
  - Oracle SQL and PL/SQL scripts tied together by DOS command files
  - Ad-hoc data cleaning via SQL
  - Some restructuring of the database, above all the application of foreign keys to ensure continued data integrity
- Production of reports using Transact-SQL for those customers whose databases were remaining on SQL Server.
Salary: Ł22,000 for 80% time (9:30am – 4:30pm) so Ł27,500 pro rata.
Reason for leaving: Expiry of temporary contract on completion of Oracle migration project.
